Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros Tiny Desk Concert

Posted by Andrew - Under: Music

Going to be tough for an album to derail this one from being my album of the year. It’s amazing through and through. It’s $5 at Amazon right now – well worth the price of lunch.  This is their tiny desk concert at NPR. They preform Janglin, Home (5:10 mark), and 40 Day Dream (10:15 mark). I’m dying to see these guys in concert. Enjoy.

Wow! So they just beat out Sissy Wish?!? Not sure how i feel about that, but definitely listened to Home on repeat on the commute home tonight…wonder if they’ll be in boston soon (checking now)

no go. but they’ve got lots of shows in canada coming up….and they just lost a few points with how obnoxious their website is :( officially have a headache from trying to read their tour schedule in between them holding hands and running in a circle (still buying the album)

@MorganRose – yup, this album takes out Sissy Wish. It has more versatility and fits my ear better. I haven’t enjoyed an album this much in awhile. I got excited when I saw they were coming to Chicago, but I won’t be in town that date. Blech. Have to catch them somewhere else.

This took a few listens but I can totally see their appeal. If I can sound like an indie snob for ONE second…I detect the sounds of Beirut (but if he was backed by a chorus), the craziness of Polyphonic Spree, and the whimsy of Fanfarlo/Bishop Allen.
    That is all.

@Emily – what an indie snob you are.
